Attorney

With a US Army colonel for a father, I did not have just one place where I grew up, but rather moved around and attended a half-dozen or so different schools before I graduated high school. But as soon as I moved here for college, I knew New Orleans was my home and have lived here since 2002. I received my undergraduate degree in Russian History from Newcomb College, of Tulane University, and my J.D. from the College of Law at Loyola University New Orleans. While at Loyola, I was the recipient of the Jesuit Social Justice Scholarship for my work as the Symposium Editor for the Journal of Public Interest Law’s Prisoner’s Rights Symposium and was named as a Gillis Long Poverty Law Center Public Service Award recipient for my work as a student practitioner for the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice, Community Justice Section.

After graduation, I was a judicial law clerk at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana for two years, then went into private practice, where I mainly focused on commercial real estate and the telecommunications industry. I returned to the world of public service in 2021 when I joined the chambers of the Hon. Marissa Hutabarat as her judicial law clerk in First City Court and then the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans.

Growing up, my family placed a strong emphasis on service to your community, and I’ve been grateful that my adoptive hometown has allowed me to serve in so many different ways: I’ve been a volunteer DJ at WTUL since 2002, and have been hosting a weekly children’s radio show there for the last 11 years. I’m on the board of One Book One New Orleans, which works on literacy in our city. Prior to the pandemic, I had been leading a weekly book club inside the city’s juvenile detention facility and am currently working to revive it. Previous volunteer work also includes a stint as President of the Loyola Young Law Alumni committee, Co-Chair of the New Orleans Safety & Justice Challenge Community Advisory Group, and a mentor with the Welcoming Project, a local organization that helped youth transition out of incarceration.

I am excited to bring my skills, work ethic, and determination to Scott Vicknair, and proud to be a part of a team that places such a high value on respecting and caring for our clients.
