Scott Vicknair Injury Lawyers has partnered with WDSU to launch the All-Star Teacher Award, a new statewide initiative recognizing Louisiana educators who go above and beyond for their students, schools, and communities.
Students, parents, colleagues, and community members can nominate a deserving Louisiana teacher for the award. The winning educator will receive a $500 gift card as a thank-you for the dedication and positive impact they bring to their students and community.
For founding partner David Vicknair, the initiative has a personal connection. His mother, Mrs. Martha Vicknair, spent more than 30 years teaching in Louisiana, giving him a firsthand understanding of the commitment educators bring to their classrooms every day.
“Teachers have always held a special place in my heart,” Vicknair said. “My mom was a teacher for more than 30 years, so I saw firsthand the difference a great teacher can make in a child’s life.”
The All-Star Teacher Award will feature two award cycles each year. Fall nominations open in September, with voting taking place in October and November and the winner announced in December. The spring cycle will begin with nominations in January 2027, with the second winner announced in May.
The award builds on Scott Vicknair Injury Lawyers’ ongoing support of Louisiana educators, including the firm’s annual High Seas and ABCs campaign, which recognizes outstanding teachers with a fully paid cruise.
